What did Nana (Jason's mom) get for her birthday (4/22)? A whole day to herself with Ella. And she didn't even have to share! She snapped these and sent them to me. My fave is the "eyebrow look".

I've added some new sites to our links section. If you're wondering who Kaylynn is, well, she is the daughter of Wes and Tamara (who have been mentioned in our blog-5/2/07). Tamara currently is a SAHM (stay at home mom) and also keeps Ella for us. She stays busy, busy, busy! And she does a great job...we never worry. :)

OK, so it's been 6 months...

Since I've posted! "Very behind" doesn't come close to describing me nowadays. As most of you already know (well you should by now!), Ella was born December 31, 2007. She weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. She is now 3 1/2 months old, over 12 pounds and over 22 inches. See what's been keeping me from this blog? I will also be deleting her old baby blog and just keeping this one since there is no way I can keep both updated.

The last month of pregnancy was pretty tough with lots of back pain (I had to be on baby-safe painkillers) and "cankles" the size of Texas. It was a rough go with LOTS to do before Ella's arrival. She wasn't due until January 19th and we thought we had plenty of time, but Ella had a different idea. I took off that Monday (Dec 31) b/c I had thought my water broke the night before but I wasn't sure. I wasn't feeling any contractions, but 2 weeks before I was dialted to 2 cm and did;n't even know it so I could really rely on my body for signs. Jason rushed home after his shift and we went straight to the hospital...it was a little after 2:00 that afternoon. I felt silly going and tried to talk him out of it. He insisted and I'm very glad he did. I was dialated to 4 cm when I arrived. Umm...WOW. I was shocked. Family was called. Dr. Pitts was called. The anesthesiologist (most importantly) was called. I was very blessed with a quick labor made even better by an epidural. After an hour or so of pushing, Ella was born at 8:15 that night. She was gorgeous and healthy and had all her toes and fingers. We were so pleased and so thankful that we were blessed with her. And we have been ever since. I took 10 weeks of leave and enjoyed every single week with her. She is an absolute joy and an incredible blessing to us. Here are some birth pics to compare with some from now. We are still so in love with her.
