Recent pics

We have most of Ella's pics plastered all over Facebook, but some of you don't have an account so can't view them. So...here are some recent ones I think you'll like. By the way, she'll be 7 months this Thursday...my how time flies! Enjoy. :)

Where has my brain been?

I cannot believe I forgot to post something I had been waiting months for. Ella got her first tooth last Saturday! It's on the bottom left. I was expecting drama, fever, fits, puddles of drool everywhere so this tooth coming in quietly was a shock. I've got my fingers crossed that the rest will be this way, but I'm not too optimistic already. :) Once I can get her tongue out of the way and get a good shot of it, I'll post. Yay first tooth!!!

O Love that wilt not let me go

O Love that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.

O light that foll’west all my way,
I yield my flick’ring torch to thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in thy sunshine’s blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.

O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.

O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

I cannot get enough of this song lately. It's my new found (the song's been out for awhile) GVB...that's Gaither Vocal Band for you people who don't "do" Southern gospel...song. The lyrics just speak to me, as corny as that sounds, and I just had to share. I am thankful I serve a loving God that hears my prayers and cares for me and my family! On a lighter note, I told Jason this morning that I truly believe the angels in heaven will sound like David Phelps. His reponse? "O-kay......?" lol

I know

I know He is the beginning, so why do I worry about the end.
I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy.
I know He has forgiven me, so why can't I forgive myself.
I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness.

I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can't.
I know He will protect me, so why do I fear.
I know He will supply all my needs, so why can't I wait.
I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why doI feel weak.

I know that everything and everyone has a season,
So why when someone's season is over do I weep instead of rejoice.
I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrongway.
I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness.
I know that whatever I ask of GOD, GOD will give me, So why am I scared to ask.

I know tomorrow is not promised, So why do I put offfor tomorrow what I can do today.
I know that the truth shall make me free, so why do I continue to lie.
I know He gives us revelation knowledge and understanding,
So why do I lean on my own understanding.
I know I should live in the spirit as well as walk inthe spirit,
So why do I choose to live in the spirit but walk in the flesh.

I know that when praises go up blessings come down,
So why do I refuse to praise Him.
I know I am saved, so why do I refuse the word He has given me.
I know He has a plan for me, So why am I rushing it because I am eager to do His will,
When it is His time not my time.

Jenn, thanks for sending me this great poem. I need to read this daily as a reminder. Why do we really make things so hard on ourselves?

Here I go

This is my first post on here, so I wanted to say hello, I am Jason, and I used to be a smoker. I didn't even know where this site was untill my lovely wife sent me a link this morning. I will try to post here and there, you know, keep the fun level up, but I can't do it all the time. I don't want the pressure of writing something deeply profound every day, so I'll just do it occasionally. I wish the world a happy 4th, and I wish all the smokers of the world would quit. It's easier to keep smoking, but I didn't want to explain to my daughter why daddy has cancer, and it was his fault. Keep it poppin!

4 1/2 days and counting

Yes, my husband is strange (as stated earlier), but now he can add non-smoker to his list. I still can't believe he hasn't smoked since Friday night. When something becomes such a huge part of your life and then it's no more, it's pretty drastic and definitely noticeable. And I'm not even the one who was smoking. He just "woke up Saturday morning and decided to quit" (this is typical) HALLEJUAH!!! This just goes to show again that Jason is stubborn and will do something when he gets ready to and not any earlier. But when he does decide--watch out...he gives it 100%. I'm not sure I give 100% all the time and that's something I should strive for. I am so proud of him and so glad this day has come.

hang in there honey! ;)
