Announcing...Mr. Samantha Farrington (hehe)

CONGRATULATIONS MR. & MRS. ANTHONY WEBB!!!

This past Saturday, May 24th, my brother and Samantha were married. It was a gorgeous ceremony (the groom's cake wasn't too shabby I might add-lol). The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding. The sun was low, casting a perfect light during the ceremony. The bridesmaids looked adorable in their purple dresses and pearls. And the flower girls were a hoot. One of my favorite things was the unity water (yes water), which was a great idea in place of the candles. I also loved the poem Samantha wrote that was in the reception area....so sweet.

Another neat note...the drummer for the jazz band that played their reception was my music teacher in grade school. Of course he didn't remember me (he taught a bazillion kids) and that was perfectly okay, but it was so interesting to see him after all these years and let him know how much I enjoyed all those records. I hope you guys have a great time in Charleston and I can't wait to see you when you get back home. Love ya'll!!!

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom,

I never held down a screaming child

so doctors could do tests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at nightwatching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,

I didn't know the feeling ofhaving my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bondbetween a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so smallcould make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth,

the joy,

the love,

the heartache,

the wonderment

or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

BIG news and I missed it!

Ella rolled over this morning! YAY!!! :) I knew it was going to be anytime now. Jason had her in our bedroom while he was getting ready this morning and he was watching her just in case and she did it! Of course, getting her arm out of the way was a huge effort. Since I got a marvelous camcorder for our anniversary/Mother's Day I asked if Jason captured it...NOPE...but I don't guess you can have everything, right? Maybe we'll get it next time.

We had a great date night Friday night all to ourselves and what did we do? Dinner and then got Ella a toy and got house "stuff" at Target...we really know how to celebrate. LOL Welcome to parenthood!

Saturday was my grandma's 70th surprise birthday party. She was so shocked and happy to see everyone. Ella got passed around like a cold and I lost 2 games of horseshoes.

I got some really nice Mother's Day gifts...of course my camcorder and a matching bracelet set for me and Ella (that she can't quite wear yet) and some hand soap and a candle. All in all, it was a great weekend!

4 month check-up

Miss Rosy Cheeks :)

Ella had her 4 month check-up today. She weighed almost 14 pounds and was a little over 24 inches long (she's come a long way from 18 1/2!). Her head circumference was in the 20th percentile, but Dr. Ellis said it was nothing to worry about as long as it continued to grow. She received 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine and was not too happy about that! Dr. E also said we could start her on first foods, which I think is a little early for her. She's already on rice cereal and she seems satisfied with that. When she seems to get more hungry, then I'll try the food. She's only taking 5 ounces, but he said she could do 6 or 7 if she wanted. Sounds like he's trying to get her to eat more! He also said she would have a tooth by the next time he saw her, which would be 6 months. I think it'll be before then.
